This is my Birdhouse. There are many like it, but this one is mine.

At first, BirdHouse may seem like a very weird twitter app, being that it has no friends timeline, no replies timeline, just your tweets. This is because BirdHouse is an app just for those who actually take time to compose their tweets. For instance, say you have something really funny to say, but you don’t think you can get it under 140 characters: compose it in BirdHouse, where you can edit your tweet later, and even quickly unpublish your tweet from twitter if you later decide that it’s not as funny as you thought it was. You can also star your tweets.

Graphics and Interface: BirdHouse is very well designed to do one thing: draft and publish tweets. It’s very easy to create a new tweet, star it, even choose which of your multiple twitter accounts you want to tweet it to. Publishing a tweet is just two taps of a button (because you wouldn’t want to accidentally tweet a tweet that wasn’t ready), as is unpublishing a tweet. Your previous tweets are stored in the history tab of BirdHouse, and you can even back up your precious tweets via email.

Bottom Line: BirdHouse is a very different type of twitter app, but one that I think I’ll be using more and more. BirdHouse has helped me make my tweets more concise and educated-sounding, and I really like the fact that you can easily unpublish any tweet in your history in case you don’t like it. BirdHouse is a very simple and well done app that does exactly what it promises. $4 is a little expensive for an app, but if you’re serious about actually writing your tweets instead of just dumping your brain’s contents into twitter, this app is definitely worth it.

I give BirdHouse 4 our of 5 tweet-rating stars
