DoodleJump is a game in which the whole objective is to jump as high as possible by bouncing your creature off of floating platforms.

Gameplay: In DoodleJump, the whole point of the game is to bounce off platforms to fly higher in the game, and at first I thought this app was EXACTLY like PapiJump, except with different graphics, but DoodleJump has some features that PapiJump doesn’t. Some of the platforms that you bounce off of crumble once you hit them, some move back and forth so it’s harder to land on them, and others have springs on them that, when jumped on, propel you at least two times higher than a regular jump would. Once you get fairly high up in the game, you start to see other creatures that will kill you if you don’t either dodge them, or kill them first by tapping the screen to shoot deadly monster-killing missiles out of your bouncing creature’s mouth. The one disadvantage that this game has to PapiJump is the inability to pause the game. Also, in both PapiJump and DoodleJump, you always start at the bottom of the screen, so there is a lot of repetition when you’re playing. But unlike in PapiJump, DoodleJump has the ability for the users to submit their high scores, which are then displayed throughout the level as height markers.

Graphics: This game’s graphics have the notebook-like feel that many other iPhone apps adopt. The creature graphics are very well done and whimsical, and overall it’s very easy to navigate the app outside of the game.
Bottom Line: DoodleJump is a fun game that I would recommend as a step-up from PapiJump, if you’re looking for something a little more challenging. The graphics are well done, and the in-game high score markers are very cool. But, there are no instructions on how to play the game inside the app; you have to go to the iTunes app store for instructions.
I give DoodleJump 4 out of 5 dead doodle creatures
